Derby Knit-a-Soc is the UNAD (University of Nottingham at Derby) knitting society. We're free to join and open to all students who are based at Royal Derby Hospital for some of their course (e.g. GEMs, GENs, MPTs) - no knitting experience required!
We're a Student-Led project which completes knitting projects as charity donations (e.g. hats for neonates, Age UK smoothie hats), whilst helping all members (from novice to expert) to improve and practice their knitting.
For 2019-20, we're running a flexible meeting system whereby members can vote here on which days and times suit them best. Most of our meetings will be at Royal Derby Hospital Medical/Nursing School, though we also have an agreement with Carnero Lounge for some Sunday mornings, and we have sometimes held meetings in Nottingham for students based there!
If you come along to any of our meetings, we will provide knitting supplies for practising/learning and for charity knitting - everyone is welcome, and there will be snacks!
Details of meetings can be found on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/DerbyKnitSoc). We will also be emailing out information via our outlook group, which you can join by emailing us or by following this link.
