White Rose, a charity shop set up to support the Aegis Trust was opened in 2010 by two Nottingham Trent graduates who had been involved with the Aegis Student Society during their time at University. The Aegis Trust is an international organisation which works to prevent genocide through education and peace building programmes. They also help survivors in difficult circumstances to rebuild their lives.
There are two White Rose shops in the city centre – one for menswear, one for womenswear. They pride themselves on handpicking recycled fashion and creating inviting shops that people will want to visit again and again.
White Rose need volunteers to carry out tasks such as:
Tagging, steaming and hanging stock to go out on the shop floor
Ensure that the shop floor is clean and tidy
Creating well put-together window displays
Assisting and serving custom
You would be expected to commit to at least one shift a week. Shifts run from 10am - 2pm, or 2pm - 5:30pm, Monday to Saturday.
The two White Rose shops are situated in Hockley, city centre. They are easily accessible by bus and tram.
