University of Nottingham Sport- Leaps to Success
Leaps to Success is a PE session where children in schools work with student ambassadors to reflect on how they can achieve success both at school, and in sport. By participating in different sporting challenges, children will reflect on the importance of working hard to achieve success. Sessions are focused on three main themes: You can choose what you want to study, working together, and doing your best.
By volunteering with Leaps to Success, you will gain leadership skills by being able to lead a game for a small group of children. You will also have a chance to develop your communication skills through communicating the game to the kids. Other transferrable skills include: confidence, time management and listening.
Please note the project is delivered across Nottingham City, Broxtowe, Gedling & Rushcliffe and this volunteering opportunity will take place in various community/public venues across this area. Training takes place at the David Ross Sports Village and you will be driven to the school by a member of the widening participation team, or Jack Kavanagh and you will always have a member of staff from the school and the university with you when delivering sessions at the school.
