We’re looking for 8 enthusiastic, creative and reliable people to join our Students’ Union Events Team as event officers. As a team we help to organise and run some of the Universities biggest events, which range from small scale, to the larger arena events.

Last year, we organised the following events: Student Union Election’s Results Night, Varsity Ice Hockey, Varsity Futsal, Varsity Hockey, Varsity Basketball, National Societies Awards, Sports Ball, International Ball, Graduation Ball as well as helping with many officer events and running our own smaller-scale events. However, please note that this year these may be subject to change.

As well as getting to organise and run the events, we’ll provide you with free first aid training and employability workshops! You’ll be able to get references and some amazing experience to add to your CV, all whilst being a part of a fun and thriving team.

Don’t worry if you haven’t previously had any events experience, we will provide you with full training and support along the way!

The events team is a highly valued and integral part of the Students’ Union events department so please only apply if you are able to commit to regular team meetings, planning sessions and able to attend a number of events throughout the year.

The events officer role runs for a full academic year around studies.

  2. Successful applicants will be contacted by 12pm on Tuesday 24th October, and will be asked to attend a team interview 1-3pm on Wednesday the 25th October. Successful applicants from that interview will then be invited to attend a short, informal individual interview either on Thursday 26th October, or the morning of Friday the 27th October.
