The Barnardo’s Butterfly Project supports the needs of a child or young person, from birth to 18 years of age, with a life limiting condition and complex health needs.

We aim to focus on enriching the lives of children and their families and we offer support throughout the journey from diagnosis to bereavement stages.

The service also helps to support the wider family members in particular by providing practical and emotional support to parents and siblings.

1-2-1 Play Volunteer

This is an amazing chance to play a vital role in providing support to children in their home (parents/carers will be present) through engaging in meaningful activity with them such as arts/crafts, music, playing games and generally having fun.

If you have good communication and interpersonal skills, an interest and understanding of the needs of people affected by disability, are reliable with good time keeping and punctuality and are aged 18 or over then these opportunities could be a great chance to develop skills and/or experience to develop or support a career in health or social care, early years, psychology, child development, etc.
