The University of Nottingham Amateur Boxing Club is an England Boxing affiliated boxing club which caters to all levels of boxers, from complete beginners to boxers competing at national level, with sessions led by qualified coaches.
Never boxed before? We can show you the basic techniques you need to start boxing, For those at an intermediate level we aim to build on strong fundamentals and the basics of sparring.
For advanced boxers we have a competitive squad of 15 members, who train at specialised sessions run by an England Boxing head coach. We aim to send team members to compete at BUCS, and also represent the University at our own show, as well as competing at regional club shows.
Beginner and Intermediate technique & fitness session run 5-7pm Tues and Thurs, with an intermediate sparring session Sunday evenings and a weekly running session. This is all held at the new David Ross Sports Centre in Studio 2. All abilities welcome, with the focus being stamina, core strength and strong fundamental technique.
Team membership is decided by a trial at the start of the year. Team sessions run four times a week with 1 session taking place at a local boxing club.
The club also has a strong social life, with regular socials as well as trips to boxing shows and hosting our own show, which isn't to be missed!
