American Football

History

Nottingham American Football was founded back in 1995, for the first years of the team we were a joint team with Nottingham Trent University called the Nottingham Outlaws, since then both Universities have created their own teams.

In the beginings of the programme the team itself was always competing against some of the best teams in the country, but would fall short of the National titles and premier league football. However in recent years the success of the American Football team has been amazing. The team went undefeated in the regular season and continued that momentum all the way to winning the Division 1 national title in 2017/2018 against UWE 43-0.

After winning the national divison 1 title the team was then promoted to the Premier North to compete against the best teams in the nation. Nottingham was the team voted most likely to win the National title In the first year of premier league football and in response Nottingham went undefeated in the regular season beating the likes of Stirling and Durham. Sadly however, Nottingham lost against the Hertfordshrire Hurricanes in the playoffs in a close fought game which was decided by 1 point.

For the 2019 season Nottingham is once again a heavy favourite to win the National Title.
