Waterpolo

Welcome to the University of Nottingham Water Polo Club

The Water Polo Club is one of the friendliest clubs in the University and our Teams are very successful in BUCS! We cater for every ability of players, ranging from current and ex-national players right down to beginners who have never played before, so everyone’s welcome! Training is up to six times a week, developing the core basics of the game as well as detailed match tactics and land based training.

If you’ve never played the game before, University is a brilliant way to get involved in a new sport without pressure being put on. So if you’re a keen swimmer, love team sports and are looking for something a bit different, give waterpolo a try. We promise you’ll have a good time, get fit and meet some amazing people along the way. For more information about the sport, our club and training times, Like our Facebook page, Join our Facebook Group and follow us on Twitter and Instagram (Details Below).

Socials

As is important to any Sports club, Nottingham Water polo offers a great social experience too, with socials every other Wednesday. We go on two tours throughout the year, one during the Easter break and the other at the end of August. We attend the annual Sports Ball every year as well as holding the anuual Alumni Weekend just before Christmas, which sees club members past and present come together for some healthy competetion and to raise money for charity. Though we aren't the largest sports team in size, we are known throughout the University for our hugely successful socials both as an individual club and with other water sports clubs. Our smaller size means that you will be made to feel instantly welcome and have some of the best times at Uni with some of the best people you can meet. GUARANTEED!

Varsity

We also take part in the annual Notitngham Varsity Series against Nottingham Trent University which draws crowds of thousands to venues across Nottingham! Last years Water Polo Varsity event saw the Pool reach full capacity within 5 mins of doors opening, with spectators watching through windows to avoid missing the action. We ran out comfortable winners and the event also included a spectacular half time show from the UoN Syncro Team.

We are looking forward to meeting you at the Welcome Fair, so come say hi, meet some of our team members and find out what the sport's all about. Any questions don’t hesitate to message us on our Facebook page, twitter, or contact us directly via email at lgyres@nottingham.ac.uk.
