The University of Nottingham Hockey Club is at the pinnacle of University hockey excellence in this country, being one of the only clubs with 6 teams competing in the top 4 tiers of the BUCS university system.
Our Men's 1st XI, BUCS Gold winners 2014/15 and 2016/17 runners up and from 2017 are playing in the National League on Saturdays. They are one of the most high profile clubs at the University of Nottingham. Made up of mainly international athletes the 1st squad is arguably the strongest University Hockey side in the country. The squad compete in the BUCS Premier Division, a fiercely contested league, that hosts the likes of Loughborough, Birmingham and Durham, to name but a few, the squad also compete against universities anywhere from Exeter to Edinbough in the BUCS Premier Cup.
Our 2nd XI have been promoted to BUCS North B league, the highest league they can compete in, and were promoted from league 2A were are 3rd XI came 2nd .
UoNHC also competes in the Midlands Regional Hockey Association Saturday leagues with considerable success. The men’s 1st XI have just entered the National League (North) a huge achievement. The 2s, 3s and 4’s all play in their highest possible leagues, playing against the equivalent teams from the big National League Midlands hockey clubs, such as Beeston and Cannock.

Incoming students- would you like to attend preseason at Nottingham? If so, please email the President, Ed Gilford, telling him the level of hockey you have played to, and he can advise you about preseason. The 1s preseason starts, 2nd Sept. 2s and 3s, 8th Sept. Rest of club 15th Sept.
Come and find us at the Welcome Fair, on Monday and Tuesday of Welcome Week (25th and 26th Sept) to find out more about the club.
Trials will happen on Thursday (14:00 to 16:00) and Friday (19:00 to 21:00) of Welcome Week, 28th and 29th Sept. You only need to attend one of these sessions. Call backs will be Sunday 1st Oct (15:00 to 17:00)
