WELCOME TO THE UNIVERSITY OF NOTTINGHAM WOMEN'S FOOTBALL CLUB

 

The University of Nottingham Women's football club is much more than just a football club. UoNWFC is a great way to improve your football skills, keep fit and most importantly have fun!

There's more to University life than studying and UoNWFC is a great way to profit fully from the University experience and make some brilliant friends along the way!

TRIALS

We are hosting trials at the David Ross Sports Village on Monday 2nd October 2017 at 17:30 - 19:00. 
Our taster session will take place at the David Ross Sports Village on Friday 29th September 2017 at 18:00 - 19:00. 

The taster session and trials are free-of-charge and everyone is welcome to join in, it doesn’t matter if you’ve never played before!

We recommend that you arrive 10 minutes early so that we can start at the stated times. Please bring suitable footwear, the surface will be 3G at the David Ross Sports Village, so avoid blades and metal studs. Don't forget your shin pads, a drink, and any other personal items e.g. tape to cover piercings or inhalers.

MEMBERSHIP

We welcome everyone from complete beginners to professionals!

Membership fees for our club  for the 17/18 academic year are £55, but freshers will have to pay £90 (an additional £35 for socks and shorts which you will get to keep). 

IMS membership fee is £15 and this includes training once a week and playing in our friendly IMS league.

Please note that UoN sports and fitness membership is also required to be part of our club. Early Bird membership is available until 6th October and for £189 includes the following:

- Access to the new £40m David Ross Sports Village 

- Three fully-equipped fitness suites 

- Over 100 weekly group exercise classes

- 25m swimming pool

- Indoor sports halls and squash courts 

- Climbing wall

TRAINING

Training takes place twice a week with the club separated into the 1st team, 2nd team, and 3rd team, each of which have their own coach. There is also futsal training once a week on Friday 6pm-7pm.

COMPETITION

 We have 3 BUCS teams competing in the Midland's Conference on Wednesday afternoons and an IMS league on Sundays.

BUCS home matches take place at Highfields or on the 3G.

 IMS games are played on campus between halls, societies or groups of friends. To find out more join our IMS group on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/739123842888828/

 The Annual Varsity Series against Nottingham Trent is played at Notts County's Meadow Lane.

  We encourage all club members to get involved in our Futsal team (5-a-side indoor football). Training takes place throughout the year - separate from our 11-a-side teams. 

 

COACHES

1st Team: Tanya Oxtoby (right)

This year our coaching team is lead by Tanya Oxtoby, who will be overseeing the club. After a number of seasons playing and captaining the Perth glory womens team in Australia and working as the manager of women’s, girls and indigenous football for football west, Oxtoby has come to the UK to continue her coaching career.

2nd Team: Jose Llorente

This season Jose Llorente will be coaching our 2nd team. 

3rd Team: Sianna Bennett (mid)

'Benno' plays for Notts County Development squad and is starting out her coaching career with our 3rd team.
