Fencing

WELCOME TO THE UNIVERSITY OF NOTTINGHAM FENCING CLUB!

We are a friendly, fun and hardworking club, who welcome fencers of any ability- whether you are a complete beginner, an advanced fencer or someone who has a foil rusting in the back of their cupboard and fancies giving it another go! For beginners, we offer comprehensive training that will introduce you to the world of fencing, without throwing you into the deep end straight away. For the more advanced and BUCS teams, we have excellent training as well as strength and conditioning sessions to keep you in tip top shape. We have two men’s and two women’s BUCS teams, and cater for all three weapons (foil, epee and sabre).

TRAINING

Monday, 1700 to 2000 - intermediate/advanced fencers.

Tuesday, 1730 to 1900 - Team S&C session.
Tuesday, 2000 to 2130 - SB fencing session.

Thursday, 2000 to 2230 - beginners session alongside intermediate/advanced fencers.

Friday, 1700 to 2000 - intermediate/advanced fencers. (Only half the Salle, as we will be sharing with TT England).

HOW TO JOIN

See us at Welcome Fair or sign up online. We will be having taster sessions, so if you would like to “try before you buy” come along!

We charge £50 for the whole year. This fee covers coaching, equipment hire, use of the sports centre and insurance. As well as this you will require a University Sports Membership.

SOCIALS

We have regular socials, with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic events, which are always memorable in one way or another!  As well as these, we have end of term formals which are our opportunity to dress up in non-fencing attire and spend a memorable night with friends! After training on Mondays it is traditional to have a drink (or three) with the club.
