Who are Vegsoc?
We are a group of vegetarians and vegans at the University of Nottingham, who love great food and great company.
What sort of events do Vegsoc run?
We organise weekly socials that run every Thursday. We regular have meals at Nottingham's best vegetarian friendly restaurants and cafes, as well as running cooking classes, "Bring & Shares", trips to Vegan fairs. We are hoping to broaden the range of events to nutrition talks, pub crawls, film nights, coffee/drink socials as well as an easter egg hunt in Spring. Previously we have even benefitted from lock-ins at Lush before Christmas.
Who can join?
Anyone! We don't preach, and everyone is welcome regardless of eating habits. So long as you enjoy good vegan and vegetarian food, you will love Vegsoc. You can sign up at the Fresher's Fayre and Welcome Festival at the start of term, or right here online.
What are the benefits of joining Vegsoc?
Perks, I hear you ask? The vegsoc committee are dedicated to getting good deals for our members. We often benefit from discounts at the many restaurants we visit, as well as being treated like VIPs!
This year we have negotiated with some of the best vegetarian/vegan restaurants in Notts to get you great discounts - just show your VegSoc membership card! This means you can eat great vegetarian and vegan food for great, student-friendly prices!
Currently these include Annie's Burger Shack, Natural Food Company and many others in Nottingham. New to 2015, discounts apply to some places in Lincoln, ask for more details!
Not a foodie?
You'll still be welcome at Vegsoc! Vegetarian & Vegan society is about bringing together like minded people and building up a community.
We organise various social events throughout the year, so theres something for everyone. Vegsoc is a great place to meet people.
