Here we are on Facebook :
Hello, we're a society based at the University which aims to discuss socialist ideas and ways in which they can help improve student life. We run regular meetings to talk about many issues including what a living wage actually is and the 'ins and outs' of zero hours contracts and how issues like this can have an impact on students across the nation. We have a forum to ask people what they want the meetings to be about and how we can help to make them engaging and as interesting as possible, we're open to all suggestions.
We also want to organize trips to national demonstrations and protests and also the annual Socialism event in London which is great, you get to talk to many people about particular issues they have interest in and where socialists stand on these topics. There are also two rallies in which guest speakers like Kshama Sawant, who is the current city councilor in Seattle and was successful in raising minimum wage there to $15 an hour. In the near future we will also have plenty of socials to get you chatting to like-minded people and of course having a good time, it's all part of being a student.
Your voice should definitely be heard and that's something very important to our society and hopefully your experience as a student.
Joining is only £3. Anybody can join, you don't have to be a socialist!
