Scout and Guide

Committee 19/20

Hi everyone! Below are your Scout and Guide Society Committee for the academic year 2019/20, elected at the last AGM. If you have any questions then drop us an email at notts.snogs@gmail.com and one of us will get back to you.
President - Kathryn Tebbs

Hi, I'm Kathryn, I'm a 3rd year Biology student and I've been in Scouting and Guiding since I was 7. I've been in Scouting for 11 years (12 in October!) and before that for 4 years I was a Brownie. My favourite SNoGS memory was my firsy rally (February rally 2017) in Sheffield. It was there I made some brilliant friends from this society and from other SSAGOs in the UK. I would always recommend going to SSAGO rallies because they're always packed with activities and it's so easy to make friends!

Vice President - Oliver Flaks

Hi, I'm Oliver, I'm a 2nd year Electrical and Electronic engineering student and I've been in Scouting 13 years, 14 in November, since I joined as a beaver at 6 years old. My Favourite SNoGS memory would be my first rally bonfire, getting to know other members of the society better around a fire and enjoying a sociable drink or two and many campfire songs, from the ones heard as a beaver to ones I'd never come across before, and wouldn't be sung in front of beavers.

Treasurer - Jake Dixon

Hi, I'm Jake, I'm a 2nd year mathematics student and I've been in Scouting since I was 6 (so over 13 years). My favourite SNoGS memory is when we went on all the biggest rides at Alton Towers and Floozy made some new ducky friends.

General Secretary - James McGrath

Hi, I'm James, I'm a 3rd year Geography student and I've been in Scouting since I started Beavers age 6, so over 14 years. I'm currently an assistant cub leader in Birmingham. My favourite SNoGS memory was taking a brave pill to go on all of the roller coasters at Alton Towers.

SSAGO Representitive - Alannah Roberts

Hi, I'm Alannah, I'm a 2nd Year Politics and International Relations student and I've been involved in Guiding since I was 10. My favourite SNoGS memory is making pancakes on pancake day!

Social Secretary - Meghan Thornloe

Hi, I'm Meghan, I'm a 2nd year Chemical Engineering student and I've been involved in Scouting since I was 6 when I started Beavers and I've been involved ever since, to for about 13 years now. My favourite memory from SNoGS has to be the Isle of wight revolution as it was my first camp with SSAGO and I loved it, especially the hover boarding that we did around a field!

Publicity Officer - Charlotte Simmons

Hi I’m Charlotte, I'm a 3rd year Biochemistry and Biological Chemistry Student. I've been in Guiding since I joined brownies at age 7 and have never left, becoming a Guide and then Young Leader with my old Guide Unit. I'm now a Guide Leader both with my old unit at home and also with a unit in Nottingham. My favourite SNoGS memory is Isle of Wight 2019 as there were loads of awesome activities, and the weather was fantastic so we could spend time on the beach, unlike 2018, where it barely stopped raining!

On behalf of the whole 2019-20 committee, I'd also like to welcome all returning members back to the society and extend a huge welcome to all of our new members - we look forward to meeting you very soon!

smile emoticoI’m so looking forward to all the great socials and camps we’ve got going on this year!
