Pole Dance Society

The Pole Dance Society is open to anyone wanting to try out a new type of fitness class whilst making new friends and having fun!

Pole Dancing is one of the fastest growing sports at the moment. It combines so many different forms of movement, from the elegance and strength required for ballet to the balance and control of gymnastics.

While Pole Dance is gaining popularity and interest worldwide, Nottingham has recently been rising above the ranks for this amazing sport also. Just in 2018, our University competed for the first time as a full team in the Unter-University Pole Competition, where our group category won with full marks and our advanced entrant placed second. Two months later in the University Pole Stars Competiiton, two of our girls placed in the intermediate category and one of our girls won the advanced category with Nottingham being the highest scoring Uni overall.

This is just the beginning of our pole journey, and we will have many competitions to look forward to next year where we hope to get as many of you competing as possible. If you don't want the pressure of competing but still want to try your hand at performing, we'll be putting on showcases as well. And if you're just here for a fun time and to make some awesome friends, we have many socials planned for next year to keep you entertained.

So please give pole a go. We're an extremely accepting and supportive society and you won't want to miss out on giving this amazing, crazy sport a try.
