Students for Global Health

Students for Global Health UK (registered charity number 1111824) is a network of students, with branches at universities across the UK. Our aim is to educate about and act upon health inequalities in our local and global communities.

Students for Global Health Nottingham is a branch of Students for Global Health UK, the official national member organisation for the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA) in the UK. We have several projects and campaigns for students to get involved in throughout the year. Students for Global Health focuses on three areas, and from the local up to the global level:

  • Education – of ourselves, fellow students, and the wider community of health inequities and how we can tackle them;
  • Advocacy – for action by local, national, and global actors to remove barriers to health for all;
  • Action – at the grass-roots level within our communities, mobilising students to take action.

SfGH Vision
“A fair and just world, in which equity in health is a reality for all”

SfGH Mission
“To create a network of students, empowered to effect tangible social and political change in health on a local, national and global level through education, advocacy and community action.”
