"The MechSoc Rugby team is one of the most competitive sides in the IMS rugby league, making it into the Super 6s league after Christmas every season and finishing 2nd seven out of the last eight seasons. Training is once a week on a Sunday 12-2pm and matches are played every Wednesday afternoon from October through to April. Playing for MechSoc is a great way to make good mates on your course and keep fit. We also run our own great socials throughout the year. Even if you and your friends are not on a Mechanical Engineering course, you’re still more than welcome to join. If interested please email Lewis King (2019/20 Captain – eayljk) or join the facebook group."

"MechSoc netball is a great way to keep fit and make friends. It's a MechSoc team but it is open to all girls in engineering and product design courses and allows you to meet other girls in engineering. We train once a week and play in the IMS league on a Wednesday afternoon. We play for fun, we don't take it too seriously, and have great joint socials with the other MechSoc sports teams. No experience is needed we are open to everyone."
Amy Crowther, netball captain 2019/20
"After finishing in the top 3 for the previous few seasons, the MechSoc Football team is amongst the best in the IMS league. Our team is made up of guys from all years of the department, it's a great place to meet people, socialise and hopefully helps you to settle in to university life. We not only welcome freshers but new players from all years of university, and hold an introduction trial at the start of the year to get these new players into the squad. Matches are played every Wednesday and training is held once a week. Socials happen often throughout the year and we try to link up with the rest of MechSoc for bigger occasions. We don't take ourselves too seriously so come along and have some fun while playing football. If you are interested in playing, contact Dan Worthington (ideally on Facebook)"

"Mechsoc Hockey plays in a 6-a-side Sunday league each week (normally at 12 or 1pm - don’t worry). We often feature in the top 3 spots of the league each year. We welcome all Engineering students of all hockey abilities to come down. It is a mixed team of mixed abilities, set up so that everyone gets some pitch time. It’s a great way to meet people in your course, play a bit of casual hockey, have a bit of a laugh and hopefully win a few games. We hope to see a few of you soon and that you all have a great first year. If you are interested, please contact Jakob Wanger (Captain 2019/20 - eayjw18)"
