My role is to log the minutes of the committee meetings that we have, order Mechsoc merch for the committee and social events, and generally keep things in order and help other committee members when needed. Feel free to get in touch with me if you have questions about the committee in general!"
Jake Irwin - eayjni
"Hi guys, I’m Jake and I’m one of your Social Secretary's for this year. I’m a third-year MEng student who’s also on the MechSoc rugby team. Joe McCluskey - eayjm20
"Hi, I'm Joe the second social secretary for this year. I am currently an MEng student going into third-year and a player on the MechSoc Football team. If anyone is keen for a kick-about give us a shout, we're always looking for new players. We look forward to producing a variety of activities to help us all throughout the year. Feel free to drop me a message if you have any questions about Uni, Notts or anything else. Cheers to a good year."
Euan Wales - eayew6
"Hi, I’m Euan and I’m responsible for organising the MechSoc sports teams (rugby, netball, football & hockey) and I’m part of the rugby team myself. Throughout the year we run sports socials and a sports day which are fun to get involved with! The teams compete strongly in the IMS (society) leagues, which also involves getting to play Trent Uni (for rugby at least)!"
Francis Huntingford - eayfh3
"Hello! I’m Francis, my job as departmental liaison is to help the society coordinate with departmental events. This will include pizza coursework and other welfare schemes like peer mentoring. If you have any ideas for welfare events please get in touch!"
Jack Brierley - emxjpb
"My role is to form and maintain any relationship mechsoc has with organisations outside of the university. Most of my work is done over summer, securing sponsorships, which allow us to hold all our events — also allowing us to provide a great opportunity for these companies and students to connect. Giving you an insight into life after university, and why you should consider a career with them. They are a great resource, and you should take full advantage of them at our career events!"
Moiz Iqbal - eaymi2
"Hi, I'm Moiz and I'm your publicity sec. My role is to promote the events that we'll be having and I also manage the social media accounts i.e Facebook groups, our Instagram accounts and even our twitter. If you have any questions just send a message on any of our social media and I'll respond ASAP."
We value our members!
Whilst the MechSoc committee is responsible for the organisation of events, all MechSoc members are just as much a part of the society as committee members, and so we encourage input and ideas from everyone!
