MechSoc

The Mentoring Scheme

MechSoc hosts its own mentoring scheme joint with the Department of M3 to help with the lecture material and to give a constant open door to 1st years who want a word of advice on the course and university life in general. Each first year tutor group will be given a mentor from a higher year at the start of the university year to help them settle in to university.

The scheme is great for the mentors too. It gives you the chance to brush up on topics from previous years, help someone (or several people) out and it looks great on your CV! As the scheme is joint with the department, being a mentor can also count as one of the modules for the Nottingham Advantage Award.

So if you're interested in getting involved as a mentor please send an email to Francis, our Departmental Liason at eayfh3@nottingham.ac.uk. The application for mentors can be found under resources to the right.
