  • University of Nottingham Japanese Society

Let us start by extending a warm welcome to the Japan Society. You may have met a fair few of the committee members down at the freshers fair; if not, I'm sure you'll get to know us pretty well soon, and we look forward to getting to know you during this academic year.

In Japan Society, we aim to promote Japan's unique and incredibly diverse culture within the University of Nottingham and its surrounding areas where Japanese culture is quite a rarity. We mainly cater towards students, holding events to ensure that there is something for everyone. A taste of what's to come throughout the year includes Japanese dining, Japanese cookery (sushi making), traditional picnics such as the Hanami celebrations in the spring time, and many more...

We will also be collaborating with some of Nottingham's finest Oriental Club scenes and event organisers to bring you awesome nightlife experiences that you'll never forget, for the better or worse... Either way, if you're the party-animal type, you're in the right place!

We will also be hosting a Welcome Event very soon to give you an opportunity to meet fellow members of the society as well as our committee, more details will be provided in a follow-up post. Check out the group page on Facebook and your university email for all Japan Society events. Keep in touch!

We look forward to meeting you soon!
