NHSF Nottingham Hindu Society was formed in 2002 to provide a network for students to interact and learn from one another whilst creating opportunities for students to have fun. Hindu Society is a society open to every member of Nottingham University regardless of their religious beliefs or background. It provides Hindu students with support, love, and spiritual education and creates a 'home' away from home through weekly aarti's, exciting talks, and sewa events so that students still have the opportunity to participate in religious and charitable events.
The Hindu Society is part of the National Hindu Students Forum (NHSF), which exists to protect, preserve, practice and promote Hindu Dharma amongst the UK Hindu student population.
In 2013 we completed 10 years of our society and embarked upon a rebranding with a new mission statement:
'To give students the opportunity to keep the religion relevent in an environment where it may struggle to do'
We aim to fulfill this mission statment by providing members with some of the most dynamic and fulfilling events. Some of the events to look forward to in the coming year are:
Central Zone Garba, NHSF Nottingham's Diwali Ball, and Holi on the Downs. In addition we hold weekly learning events which include the weekly Aarti, sewa events, socials and sports training.
We hope you can be part of the NHSF Nottingham family and look forward to seeing you at our events.
