European Law Students' Association (ELSA) Nottingham

ELSA Nottingham is a local group of the European Law Students' Association (ELSA) United Kingdom. We are one of the most established groups in the UK having won many awards over the years such as most active in 2016/2017, and most outstanding local group in 2018/2019.

ELSA offers international opportunities for its members, centred around six flagship projects. These include the opportunity to be part of ELSA Delegations to International Institutions (such as the United Nations) and to participate in international summer law schools. Members can also send in submissions to various Law Reviews within the network (notably the ELSA Law Review) or contribute to International Legal Research Groups in collaboration with various international organisations.

If you're a keen mooter, ELSA International organises two of the world's largest moot court competitions: the European Human Rights Moot Court Competition (EHRMCC) and the ELSA Moot Court Competition (EMC2) on WTO law. Moreover, through the Student Traineeship Exchange Programme, ELSA also facilitates international legal work experience throughout the network for students of all backgrounds.

At a local level, we are particularly proud of ELSA Nottingham 'Refugee Project', run each year with student volunteers in collaboration with local organisations. The project won the 'Best Charitable Initiative' in the Students' Union Societies Awards 2017/18. It provides students an opportunity to engage with refugees in the Nottingham community and make a difference.
