Membership for the year is just £6 and grants you access to all our un-auditioned ensembles, tour, socials, and the chance to audition for Moonlighters and Wind Orchestra. We will have a stall at Refresher's Fair where you can find us and talk to the committee about the society. You can also join online or at the tills in the Students Union's office in the Portland Building, University Campus. Feel free to try us out and come along to a rehearsal or two before joining.

Have a look here for first rehearsal dates for the Spring Term.

~~~Auditions for the 2016-17 academic year have already been held, but the following may be useful if you are considering auditioning for 2017-18!~~~
Sign up for a slot by coming to our stall in Fresher's week either in the music department or at the Fair. We aim to make these auditions as informal as we can so don't be scared about signing up and if you have any questions, please do drop us an email or have a chat with any of the committee in Fresher's week.
Wind Orchestra Auditions
These will be held on Friday 30th September from 9-3pm, and on Sunday 2nd October from 9-6pm. We will ask you to play a prepared piece, or section of a piece, no longer than 3 minutes. It will be unaccompanied, but we are more than happy for you to play any piece just without the piano part, you don't need to pick a study piece! This will be followed by a short bit of sight-reading. There are practice rooms in the music department where you can have a practice during Fresher's week and to warm up just before your audition. The audition will be in front of George Morton, our conductor, and the two Wind Orchestra managers.
Moonlighters Auditions
Auditions for Moonlighters Big Band will  be held on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th October, from 9-6pm. They will be in front of three Blowsoc committee members, including the Moons manager and musical director. There will be a set piece we ask you to play, which you can collect at our Fresher's Fair stall, some sight-reading and then an optional part of the audition where you can have a go at some improvisation.
