ASk! (Atheists and Skeptics Society)

We aim to offer a social alternative to religious groups on campus by providing opportunities to:

Think!

  • Guest speakers such as Gordon Ward of the Sunday Assembly and Tehmina Kazi of the British Muslims for Secular Democracy;
  • Debates and discussions with individuals and groups from other societies (including the religious societies) on current issues: Is abortion morally wrong? What is the impact of strong religious beliefs on children’s development and free thinking?
  • Watch movies and documentaries on similar topics and more.

Have fun!

  • Wine night, a chill evening with some friends, some wine and nibbles, and great discussion;
  • Parties, because sometimes we need to let loose and dance to devilish music;
  • Annual Winter ball, a formal evening of good food and good fun;
  • Exam shazam, little get-togethers during exams season to support each other and unwind around a cuppa;
  • And also... Pub trips, bowling, laser tag, escape rooms… and a lot more!

Campaign!

  • On and off campus for a future where religion isn’t imposed upon anyone against their will and where people from all walks of life are treated equally.
