Chess

University of Nottingham Chess Society

Hello and Welcome!

Whatever your experience with chess, we have something for you. Weekly interactive training session will help you progress quickly. If you need motivation, there are regular internal competitions. If that is not enough for you, we play league games in several divisions and take part in other competitions.

Otherwise, just come along, meet people and have some friendly games.

The sessions are on every Wednesday from 7 to 10:30pm in C20 Portland Building.

The society is growing to include volunteering events with the Chess in Schools and Communities Scheme. The society sent volunteers into local schools to teach children how to play chess, and how to improve thier chess. After a successful term last year, we are looking for more volunteers to carry the project forward. Details of the current schools involved are here: http://www.chessinschools.co.uk/project.nottingham.htm
If you wish to volunteer for this project, please contact Steven Luland: steven.luland@nottingham.ac.uk
