Summer Volunteering - Derby Kids Camp

Summer is getting closer! If you're going to have some spare time and want to do something a bit different with your break, why not volunteer with young people?

Derby Kids’ Camp is a 100% volunteer-run charity committed to providing free camping holidays to deserving and disadvantaged children from Derby City and the surrounding areas, who may not otherwise get a break from home during the year.

Volunteer teams are on camp for a week each, from Saturday to Saturday, with the first week beginning 27th July and the last week beginning 24th August. Don't fancy camping? They now have an additional camp which is called “The Cottage” that takes place week commencing 21st July.

There are a range of roles on camp are based on volunteer’s experience and interests – from playing football to cooking; running craft activities to maintaining equipment; singing campfire songs, organising talent shows and more! Each team consists of over 30 volunteers and new volunteers will be supported by those with previous experience.

Volunteers are provided with training before camp as well as access to a great support network during the week. The training day is Sunday 7th July and runs from 11am - 3pm.

Volunteering with the charity is incredibly rewarding, with many volunteers returning year after year to continue to provide the holidays and be part of a supportive team.
