One off opportunity: Rebuilding computers for elderly people with Age UK

Age UK Notts enhances the quality of life and promotes the health and wellbeing of all older people. They are in need of volunteers to help rebuild and update computers. This is a new project and it would be great to have some enthusiatic volunteers to help it flourish into the future!

As part of Age UK's strategy of helping older people access the internet (makes sure they are not disadvantaged by being able to access best deals on utilities and helps them feel less lonely by enabling them through social media to stay in touch with family members not living locally) we have got 60 computers at the Charity that need rebuilding and updating.

When this has been done, the computers will be sold at a very low cost to older people who currently have no means of accessing the internet. We can then offer training to support them via the range of computer education workshops on offer.

You don’t have to be too technical to do this role and staff will always be on hand to support. If you are in Nottingham over the summer, and can spare one morning or afternoon a week, this would be perfect for you!

The role will take place at Age UK's head office in Nottingham City Centre and any travel expenses will be reimbursed
