You probably noticed the technical problem that developed with the meal card system on Friday 1 February and continued until the early hours of Monday 4 February.
It meant that if you were a student or DailyBites customer with money left on your meal card, you weren’t able to spend it before the balance reset, as usual, on Sunday night.
The terms of DailyBites meal cards say that you’ll lose any unspent money on your meal card when your weekly balance resets. But because the recent problem was out of your control – as well as out of the control of available catering and IT staff – we’ll make sure you’re reimbursed.
This will happen in one of two ways, depending on how much balance you had left on your meal card:
1) If you had a remaining balance of less than £3.00:
The University will give you an online free hot drink voucher that you can exchange for one hot drink of tea or coffee.
It’s valid for one use only between Monday 11 and Friday 15 February 2019, and you can only use it at DailyBites University of Nottingham cafés on University Park and Jubilee Campus.
2) If you had a remaining balance of more than £3.00:
You’ll get a refund on your meal card at the catering Finance Support office between Monday 11 and Wednesday 13 February.
We’ll send you an email and ask you to bring your student ID card to the catering Finance Support office between 8am to 5pm on Monday 11, Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 February. Then we’ll manually add your remaining funds to your normal weekly balance.
If you’ve been affected, catering will be in touch to explain which of the two options you’re eligible for, so watch this space for more info.
