On Monday 16 March the Government issued advice regarding the coronavirus pandemic; this is to minimise non-essential contact, avoid social spaces and stop all unnecessary travel. The wellbeing and safety of you - our members - and our staff is our highest priority, and as such we are making the following changes to our services and activities.
All Students’ Union organised events have been cancelled or postponed, including the Varsity Series, Sports Ball, and Societies Ball. Details around all affected events and refunds will be released on the website and social media, and we’ll be in touch directly if you have purchased tickets.
Student Leader Elections have been postponed until May. Following consultation between the Deputy Returning Officer and Elections Committee, the decision has been taken to postpone both campaigning and voting to coincide with the next set of elections in May. Candidates have been made aware, and more information will be released on social media and the SU website.
All student group (societies, sports clubs, SRSs etc) in-person activities have been suspended until further notice. We’ve updated committee members and we are available to provide guidance on what this means for the individual group. We’ll continue to review the situation and provide guidance for committee members over the spring break.
We are moving most of our support and communications online, where possible, and suspending in-person support. As such, the Advice team, Reception, and the teams in the Get Involved Zone in the Portland Building, will be available online. If you do need to get in touch with us please use these contacts:
