UoNSU Student Trainers have a unique opportunity to support the student community by shaping the development of our various student groups through our menu of workshops.
Enhance your employability
Employers value self-awareness that comes from participation in activities outside the lecture theatre. Becoming a student trainer could provide you with great examples of experience at interviews on application forms and assessment centres. Do you want to develop your confidence, ability to communicate clearly, to give and receive constructive feedback or just have fun with a diverse group of people? Then why not apply to become a Student Trainer?
Don’t worry, you don’t need to have any experience of delivering Ted talks to be a student trainer! If successful you will receive comprehensive training, a personal development plan and the option to complete an NAA module.
We want you to benefit from your experience as a trainer as much as possible, but we know balancing studies, a social life and volunteering can be a bit of a nightmare. With that in mind you can take on as much or little as you would like to commit depending on your availability. As a guideline we ask that you commit to 4-10 hours per term over a minimum of 1 academic year.
