Nottingham has been named ‘Entrepreneurial University of the Year’ at the Times Higher Education Awards 2008. The University was praised for nurturing entrepreneurship at all levels, from senior management to staff and student societies.
New Vice Chancellor, David Greenaway, said, “Entrepreneurialism has always been embedded long term at this university, reaching back to the work we have done with Boots for over a century. What pleases me most about this award is the way it reflects how our students embrace the qualities of the entrepreneur.”
Nottingham was one of 34 universities to be nominated for the award which was new for this year. As well as winning the Entrepreneurial University of the Year Award, Nottingham was also shortlisted for the ‘Outstanding ICT Initiative’ and ‘Marketing Initiative of the Year’ awards.
