Nottingham Street Doctors in the Nottingham branch of the national charity Street Doctors. All volunteers are medical students. We teach young people in the community who are at risk of violence what to do if someone is bleeding or unconscious.
Violence is the third leading cause of death in young people in Europe. Some of these deaths happen because the people present do not know what to do; they panic and don't call for help. Teaching these young people to call 999 and effectively deliver simple first aid cancan and does save lives. But by highlighting the death and significant injury associated with violent crime, we also help to discourage young people from carrying weapons in the first place.
Our next recruitment is in October. If you would like to get involved you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/StreetDoctorsNottingham/
