Rowing (Medics)

Dear Rowers,

Sadly, due to lack of members this year, Medics' Rowing will be unable to continue running sessions. We've had a really successful three years, training up rowers of all abilities, and its been great to see members go on to improve their skill, fitness and confidence. We've rowed in all weathers, had lots of fun and some great socials to top it all off.

We're very sorry this has had to happen to such a great club, but it has been unavoidable given the circumstances. As we are now unable to use the Nottingham Rowing Club facilities please could all gym keys be returned at your nearest convenience to one of the committee.

Thanks for everything!

Medics' Rowing Committee

If you’re a fan of rowing but not those 5am starts then this is the society for you! We have places for both those experienced rowers and those of you who have never set foot in a boat before! We are open to students from any course - you don't have to be a Medic to join!

We run training sessions on the water on Wednesday afternoons and Sunday mornings, with gym sessions through the week. All sessions are optional - just tell us when you want to come.

We row in everything from singles to 8-man boats, sweep and skull. Every session tends to be different, but if you want to take things a bit more seriously we'd love to get some consistent crews looking to race this summer! We are also organising professional coaching for 2014/15.

In addition we hold socials throughout each term to give you a better chance to know your team better! We are a new society (began last year) and run separately to the Uni team. We're part of Nottingham Boat Club, which also supports the Loughborough and Trent clubs, so there's always a great mix of students down at the river.

So if you’d like to GET INVOLVED & be part of a great club, join Medics Rowing! If you're interested, please email or visit the Facebook page at
