Time: 8am - 8pm
Location: Rugby Polo Club
National university polo tournament running over 4 days.
For beginner, novice, intermediate and open levels, as well as an alumni section (SAPA).
The SUPA Winter National Championships is the world's biggest arena polo tournament on record - made up entirely of university students. Every university polo club in the country will be coming to Rugby Polo Club for 4 days of polo from Thursday 8th-Sunday 11th February 2018.
Each team will play 4 chukkas over the 4 days. Generally, you play 2 chukkas on the Thursday, 1 on the Friday then either on Saturday or Sunday depending on whether you get into the finals or not. You can play a half slot (2 chukkas instead of 4) but please be warned that 1. this could be on any day, not just on a weekend and 2. you'll probably want to play more once you've played 2!
There are 4 divisions: beginner, novice, intermediate and open. Teams and divisions will be picked by Grant and Grant alone!
As always, there'll be a club meal on the Friday night and the infamous player's party on the Saturday night where every university dresses up as their own theme - this is not one to be missed! (it's also mine, Gwen's and Rebekah's birthdays on the 9th, 10th, 11th!!). Do not fear, we will be staying in a hotel for the tournament!
