Further Information

In 1920 some wiseguys decided it would be a good idea to ban all sale, manufacture and public consumption of alcohol in America. As a result, many underground bars made a fortune peddling booze, usually operated by the mafia. So bars could hide the scent of liqueur in their drinks to avoid detection from law enforcement, this era was ironically a renaissance for some interesting cocktail recipes that still hold up to this day. So in that spirit, we're going to party like it's 1929 and see what these crafty bartenders came up with. We'll be showing you how to make the honey-infused 'Bees Knees' which really is the bees knees, and the yummy rummy 'Mary Pickford'. So bring a trilby if you have one, while we put on some swing and New York jazz, and take you right back to these unthinkable dark ages where getting a decent drink in town wasn't as easy as it is now - this Tuesday at Das Kino!
