On the 7th June we will holding a day of workshops with the fantastic Nancy and Ben from Swing Patrol London.

Lesson 1: Improver / Intermediate 
Hour 1: Back to basics: 6 Count tips and tricks
Hour 2: Building on your basics: Swing outs for the win
 
 
2:15pm-4:30pm

Lesson 2: Intermediate / Advanced
Hour 1: Bring it! Pulse and posture
Hour 2: Bring it! Dancing faster but moving slower

Evening social dance and fuddle
Feel free to bring along cake and biscuits etc. Food is not allowed in the rehearsal hall but a cake stattion will be set up in the foyer.

Benjamin Cook
Benjamin originally hails from Melbourne, Australia, where he found swing dancing in 2006. Flying half way around the world to help Scott start up Swing Patrol London back in 2009, he now lives in London; teaching, performing and travelling the world chasing Lindy Hop.
 
Benjamin is a full time Lindy Hopper and currently runs the Angel and London Bridge venues, the Rhythm Rascals performance troupe, is a member of The Hotfoot Strutters, and has taught in Australia, UK, Ireland, France, Czech Republic, Sweden, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Germany, and Israel.
 
Proud to have come from a background without professional dance training, he has placed in over 30 different competitions around the world, is a 2-time UK Lindy Hop Champion and recently won the Advanced Strictly Lindy at the International Championships in 2013 with Ash Cochrane.Benjamin also runs his own swing performance company, Swingcopation, performing around London and the UK for film, TV, and corporate events.
 
Nancy Hitzig
Nancy is an international award-winning lindy hop instructor and performer. Originally from Canada, Nancy leads an arts-full life producing opera, performing burlesque internationally, fundraising for a London-based orchestra and teaching for Swing Patrol. She loves the community, spirit and magic of swing dance and performance and has been dancing for more than nine years. Nothing brings her greater joy then bringing people together to celebrate dance, enjoy quality movement, and hear a cookin’ band.
 
 
Price Breakdown Members / Non Members
Lesson 1 (2 hours) = £10 / £12
Lesson 2 (2 hours) = £10 / £12
Lesson 3 (1 hour)   = £2 / £5
All day pass (5 hours) = £16 / £22
 
Payment will be made through the UoN SU website, you will recieve email about how to pay. 
 
Non students will need to register a guest account in order to buy tickets:
 
All day passes are recommended to anyone who would like to gain experience dancing in their opposite role during lesson 1 (i.e. leads as follows) and lesson 2 in their normal role. Or experienced dancers who do not mind taking part in improver lessons.
