Student Professional Conduct

If you follow one of the University’s courses leading directly to a professional qualification, the University has a duty to ensure that you meet the learning outcomes determined by the relevant professional bodies and that you are ‘fit to practice’.

At the University of Nottingham, this relates mainly to courses in:

Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences
(including School of Nursing, Midwifery and Physiotherapy and School of Pharmacy)

Centre for Social Work

School of Education – Initial Teacher Education

Help and Advice

If your professional conduct on your course has been brought into question, and you would like further advice and information, please get in touch with the SU Education Advisers. As well as advising students, the Education Advisers can attend investigatory meetings, helping you draft statements and gather evidence and support you if you wish to appeal. They can also attend formal hearings with students.
