President

Alex Corck-Adelman

supresident@nottingham.ac.uk

My role as President is to represent student views to external bodies, including the University, local media, NUS, businesses, and anyone else! I also have a duty to make sure that the Union is heading in a direction in line with our Strategic Plan.

I ran for my role because I was heavily involved with the Students’ Union throughout my degree, and enjoyed every single minute of it. Through my involvement I saw areas and ways in which I thought I could improve the Union, and make it even better for future students – and that’s what I’m going to try and do.

My priorities for this year are to make sure that the University is putting adequate support and resources in place in light of the new fees system, and to look into the possibility of setting up a smart card system for a lot of the services that you use every day.

Blog #1

Some of you might be aware over the past week early discussions have taken place over a potential event involving external speakers on our campus in the coming weeks.

The event in question is no longer taking place. The way we deal with requests for events involving external speakers is to consider it in line with our external speakers policy and to make a decision on a case by case basis.
