Athletic Union

Sarah Williams – Athletic Union Officer

suathleticunion@nottingham.ac.uk

I support all Athletic Union clubs, both on and off the pitch, to ensure their continued success and development.

I run the intra-mural sports programme which sees over 1,000 members compete for their hall or society each week, as well as the Charity Varsity Series against our rivals, Nottingham Trent.

Taking part in sport is a great way to stay healthy, keep fit, and formulate great friendships. The reason I ran for this role is to make sure that students get involved in sport and enjoy it as part of University life, just as much as I did. As 1st team captain, President of Ladies Lacrosse and part of the Athletic Union Exec I have always been involved with the Athletic Union and I wanted to really instil some positive change, especially in improving the running of Intra-Mural sport.

Another priority on my agenda is to increase the participation of non-sporty people and hard to reach groups, such as those on satellite campuses.
