Science Fiction, Fantasy & Anime Society

"Mostly harmless!"

To those in the know, those two simple words are enough! We are the university's resident society dedicated to bringing together those fortunate souls with a shared interest in science fiction, fantasy and anime. The Nottingham University Science Fiction, Fantasy & Anime Society (SFFAS) exists to provide its members with a steady and nourishing diet of films and TV series' old and new, and to cater likewise for those with more literary tastes with its expansive library of over 1000 books, a complete-ish catalogue of which is available here.

Science Fiction & Fanntasy night is every Wednesday at 7pm in E126 Portland Building. Members bring their DVDs and we all vote on watch to watch, with actual viewing starting at 7:30pm. Afterwards we get together to chat in either Mooch, the student bar, or The Johnson Arms, a nice local pub.

We also run an Anime night, with meetings every Monday, again at 7pm, but in C27 of Portland. Please bring any anime you have (real DVD only please). We watch both series and films, with a maximum of two episodes from any particular series each week, to try to encourage variety.

And, if that wasn't enough, we also endevour to have regular socials, film outings, and other shindigs, including our annual Halloween Party, where we finally get to take off our masks and be our true selves.

So if you know significance of 42 or how many parsecs Han did the Kessel Run in, come join us! We don't bite, often!
