Re-Freshers' Week Is Here!

Re-Freshers’ Week is now upon us, and we've got an action packed timetable of events for you! It's the perfect way to find out more about your Students’ Union and all the exciting opportunities we can offer you, and a great way to unwind after exams. Take up a new hobby with our cake decorating, yoga, ballet or cricket sessions; come along to Re-Freshers’ Fair on 31st January and join a club or society, or cheer on the competitors at the 'Notts Got Talent' final.
 

The PGSA has also planned some special Re-Freshers' events especially for Postgraduate students, including a film afternoon.

The Big Ask - Have Your Say

You should all know by now that the Big Ask is coming. Committees of students in the “Yes” and “No” camps have now been selected and they are now planning innovative ways to engage you with their respective campaigns and hopefully involve you in the debate on how your Students’ Union will be ran in the future. Voting in the Big Ask will run from 8th February till 14th February 2012. This is your chance to have your say, for more information visit www.su.nottingham.ac.uk/bigask
 


Accommodation Fair - 1st February 11am - 3pm

House hunting season officially started on 23rd January, so if you're looking for that perfect house for next year, you've probably already visited the Unipol website to look at their property listings for 2012-13.


Make sure you also come along to our Accommodation Fair, Wednesday 1st February 2012 from 11am – 3pm, in the Portland Building Atrium, University Park. You’ll be able to meet landlords who have been accredited by Unipol, and our Student Advice and Representation Centre (SARC) will also be on hand to provide advice and a contract checking service.

Students - Course Reps are your voice on all course related matters; course structure/content, libraries, personal tutors, etc. You can find out here who your Course Rep is. You can let them know how your course can be better by filling in our super quick Course Rep Survey.
 


Try Something New - Join a Club or Society!
Made a New Year’s Resolution to take up a new activity? Or are you a new University of Nottingham student? Then why not join a club or society brought to you by your Students' Union?

Being a member of a club or society is a great way to spend your free time; you can also learn new skills and showing that you are part of something outside your course looks pretty good on your CV too.

SVC Gold Awards - Nominations Now Open!
Your Student Volunteer Centre (SVC) is delighted to announce the opening of their Gold Award nominations for 2012. For the first time there are three categories; The Certificate of Dedication; Volunteering England’s' Gold Award and new for this year - Project of the Year Gold Award. If you volunteer make sure you get the recognition you deserve!

Varsity 2012 Starts Soon!

The Charity Varsity Series kicks off at 1pm on Sunday 5th February with American Football at the Harvey Haddon Stadium. Varsity matches always attract thousands of spectators there to support their University - make sure you're one of them!

Healthy U Roadshows

We want you to take care of your physical, sexual and mental health whilst you're at University.  At a Healthy U Roadshow you'll be able to access help and advice including free sexual health testing. Come along to a Roadshow near you: 2nd Feb, The Atrium, Jubilee Campus; 6th Feb, Lenton & Wortley; 9th Feb, Florence Boot, all from 5-7pm.
 


National Student Survey

The National Student Survey 2012 opens on 30th January. For final year students, this is your chance to have your say on what you thought of your time here; with questions on everything from teaching and academic support to library resources and course organisation. You can shape the Nottingham experience for future students!
