Week One

To make sure you settle in and have a great first week, your Students’ Union has organised a packed schedule of entertainment, campus tours and days out. If you’re not living on campus, don’t worry, you won’t miss out, and there is even a special programme of events for Postgraduate students. International students – your Welcome Week is from 19 to 25 September and we’ll be involved in that as well.

Get involved

We have literally hundreds of opportunities for you to get involved in; over 200 Societies, 77 Sports Clubs, nine Student Run Services and a Student Volunteer Centre. You can find out about all of them at Freshers’ Fair from 26 to 28 September, where you can also pick up tonnes of freebies. Doing something outside of your course is a great way to make new friends and is good for your CV too, so definitely have a look and see if anything interests you!

Support

We know that you are going to have the time of your life at university, but if you do need to chat to someone during your first few weeks and beyond, there are plenty of places you can go for support in the Students’ Union. Have a look at the Help and Advice section on our website for details of the people to speak to.
