Kukri

Our new clothing supplier

                          Kukri

Kukri will now be the offical AU clothing supplier for the next 4 years.

They will be working with the AU to bring in a new AU 'Brand' that makes the AU more professional and brings the clubs together under the University of Nottingham colours Green and Gold. It will be required for ALL BUCS wednesday league sides to purchase their kit from Kukri and they are here for the next week meeting with clubs to design the brand new green and gold kit!

For all other BUCS and Non-BUCS clubs Kukri will be suggested as your clothing supplier for your teamwear however your SOCIAL kit (Hoodies/tracksuits etc) will need to be brought from Kukri or passed through the AU officer if you are using other companies to ensure they meet the new brand requirements.

This is an exciting new venture and the vision is that all AU clubs will be seen around campus, at all sporting events and nationally in the green and gold so EVERYONE will know who we are and how good we are!

Be a sport - get coaching!

Are you looking to get involved with sports coaching in Nottingham?
Want to train to become a coach?

A new student-led coaching scheme has been set up for any sports-mad students that want to get more involved in coaching whilst at Uni.

The Student Sports Coaching Initiative (SSCI) was started by Ed, a Nottingham Uni footballer and coach of the Women's Football Team.  After struggling to find out about opportunities to coach in Notts he decided to help make it easier for others to get active in local sports.

SSCI has established links with Nottingham County Council as well as several local sports clubs to provide a number of projects for students.

Current projects include:

* Championship Notts - general sports volunteering opportunites in / around Nottingham
* FUNdamentals Workshops - specialist training to improve your sports coaching techniques with children
* Badminton Youth Forum - help develop playing skills in local kids
* Cricket World Record Attempt - join the attempt to hold the world's biggest cricket match!

Whether you are already a qualified coach, are interested in getting qualified or just want to get involved in some great sporting events in Nottingham then they want to hear from you.

Email volunteering@nottingham.ac.uk for details.

Or join by going to su.nottingham.ac.uk/ssci/
