Help the Elderly keep warm this winter

Many Elderly people woke up to a chilly start this weekend

This weekend it snowed lots - which was very exciting!

But for some people when the snowflakes start to fall it can be the start of a tricky time. For some Elderly people it can mean a fear of slipping over, struggling to stay warm at home and feeling isolated.

However there are some great charities in Nottingham that we work with that help Elderly people. The Helpful Bureau provides a DIY service where they go into people’s homes to fix any problems to help keep people warm and the Radford Care Group has a day care centre where Elderly people can socialise and have a hot meal.

Both of these great projects welcome student volunteers. Even if you are in your final year you can still help out before you graduate. For more information contact volunteering@nottingham.ac.uk
