We know that sometimes committing to an ongoing volunteer opportunity can feel a bit daunting. Perhaps you are not sure what you would like to do, or you don’t like the idea of going on your own.
That's why we put on 'taster' volunteering activities where you can drop in to the Student Volunteer Centre for as little as half an hour. Just turn up either on your own or with your mates and get stuck in with our activities.
We're a friendly bunch and we love getting to meet you! You need no experience at all – we’ll have tutorials for all these activities and will be on hand to help you.
Stress Balls (January)
Take a break from your exam stress and join us in making a stress ball for yourself or a friend. They are really easy to make and it only takes about 15 minutes.
Chinese New Year (Monday January 23rd)
Come and celebrate Chinese New Year with the Student Volunteer Centre by making a Chinese New Year card to give to a friend.
Hats for the Homeless (February)
Last year we made hats out of jumpers for the homeless. They were so popular that this term we are going to make even more.
Draught Excluders (February)
If you or someone you know lives in a chilly house then get yourself along to these sessions! We will show you how to make draught excluders to help keep you house that little bit warmer.
Mini-Olympics with Radford Care Group (March)
To celebrate the Olympics we are going to challenge elderly people to an Olympic style tournament. In the run up to this we will need your help to make decorations to help this event stand out.
