Student Volunteer Centre Student Volunteer Centre

The Student Volunteer Centre is a department within the Student’s Union, based at University Park. The team is specifically there to help students get involved in the wonderful world of volunteering: gaining valuable experience, having fun and getting involved in the Community.

Becki Newman form the centre explains; "We appreciate that for healthcare students based at different sites away from Nottingahm it’s often not practical for you to access a lot of our projects". "That's why the Student Volunteer Centre has developed an exciting new Referral Service to bring our opportunities out to you! We’ve researched and collated information about different local projects for students in: Mansfield, Boston, Grantham, Lincoln and Derby.

The way the service works is quite simple

1) You send us an email to let us know you’re interested in getting involved and where you’re based

2) We will send you basic information on all the different projects in that area

3) You can have a look….pick any of interest and let us know

4) We’ll then send you details on how to get more information and get involved… EASY!

The centre can also add you to their mailing list so you can keep up to date with all the one-off events, national campaigns and new opportunities. There are all sorts of projects available: from using your technical skills to help a charity update their webpage to mentoring young people at risk of offending. And you can commit as much or as little time as you want.
