Lincoln & Boston students, we need your help!!!
You may have noticed that there is a distinct lack of extracurricular activities at Lincoln and Boston compared to University life at other sites. The Students’ Union currently has a functional Nursing And Midwifery Associations (NAMAs) at Centres such as Nottingham, Derby and Mansfield. We are now actively looking for students at the Lincolnshire centres to come forward and re-establish a committee to provide activities and services for Lincoln and Boston students.
The two groups that we are hoping to establish would be called NAMA Lincoln and NAMA Boston. Each group’s committees (made of student volunteers) would provide: activities, socials, volunteering opportunities and welfare support for local nursing and midwifery students.
Both groups would be affiliated to and funded by us at the University of Nottingham Students’ Union and continuous help and support would be provided.
What specific things could NAMA organise?
· Social events such as: comedy nights, summer balls & family days
· University Hoodies; locally branded for the Lincoln Centre
· Welfare support for students experiencing difficulties
· Activities such as: yoga, aerobics, sign language and trips out
· Events and support for the new students starting the course
· Sports teams such as: football, netball and hockey etc
· Volunteering Projects in the local community
· Fund raising activities for: local, national or international charities
