Teething problems?

If the start of term isn’t running as smoothly as you hoped, remember that the good folk at the Student Advice & Representation Centre (SARC) are there to offer a helping hand.

Worried you might have chosen the wrong course?
If you’re concerned that you’ve chosen the wrong course, visit SARC for advice on your options. You may be able to transfer to another course or University.

Is your new accommodation in a poor condition?
If your new accommodation isn’t up to scratch, the Advisers at SARC will be able to advise you on how to get repairs carried out.

Are you are new International Student?
SARC can let you know about council tax, healthcare, childcare, driving, working in the UK, or other issues you might have to help you get settled in.

Student Advice & Representation Centre
Whether you need information, advice or representation about welfare or education issues, SARC, based in the Portland Building at University Park, can provide invaluable support throughout your time at University.

Staff at the Centre offer a free and confidential service providing advice and information on a range of issues including housing, money, consumer and course/University-related matters.

You can contact SARC by calling into the Centre during their drop-in hours of 9am-4pm (10am-5pm on Wednesdays during term-time) or you can make an appointment to see one of the Welfare Advisers. A Welfare Adviser is also available at Jubilee between 1pm and 4pm on Mondays during term in room A06 of the Amenities Building. You can make an appointment to speak to an Adviser in the Amenities Building at Sutton Bonington too. Alternatively, you can telephone or email the SARC staff (details below).
