Your Students' Union Executive have been working hard to create real change for students; have a look to see what they've been up to.
Students With Caring Responsibilities
The Students’ Union has successfully lobbied the University to collect data on students with caring responsibilities. This will improve the support for, and representation of, student parents and carers. Collecting data will allow us to review the relative dedication of resources and also enable both the University and Students’ Union to send targeted information to student carers on financial support and local childcare provision. The university experience of student carers will also be properly monitored which we hope will lead to many more positive changes!
C-card Scheme - extended to over 25s
After your Students’ Union raised the issue that C-card (free condom scheme) was unavailable to over 25s, the scheme has been extended to students over 25 years old! Students can register at the University of Nottingham Health Service (UoN HS-Cripps) and can then use their card at UoN HS and the Student Advice and Representation Centre in the Portland Building. A card will last for 2 years and operates in the same way as the c-card scheme, without the lengthy registration process, so students don’t need to make an appointment to sign up.
