The low-down on Freshers' Fair

Freshers’ Fair is full to the brim with all things Students' Union, and is arguably one of the highlights of Week One.

WHO will be there?

Every single club and society under one roof (well, marquee). Over 200 societies and 77 clubs. Yes, you heard right. All in one place. And they want YOU - so whether you’re a pro rugby player or just fancy your hand at cocktail making, get involved!

All of the student-run groups will also be there. See yourself as a top journo, TV presenter or Radio DJ? Perhaps you want to get involved with Theatre or raise some money for charity? Explore the stands and find out more!

You’ll find a map in your Week One pull-out which shows roughly where all of the stalls are – get ready to explore…

What goes on in that marquee exactly?

You sign up to clubs and societies! You'll be given freebies! You'll eat free pizza!

How do I sign up to Clubs and Societies?

• Make sure to bring your Student ID with you (on University Card or registration letter)

• Collect a barcode sticker from the group you want to join, and stick in on a ‘Shopping Card’ – don’t pay any fees at the stalls and make sure you know what you’re getting for your money!

• Once you’ve got all of the barcodes for the groups you want to join, head to the tills at the back of the marquee. We’ll scan the barcodes and take the payment (cash or card).

WHY should I join clubs and societies?

We can think of loads of good reasons! Clubs and societies are great ways to make friends, become more employable, challenge yourself, and most importantly, have fun! Carpe Diem and all that…

WHERE will it be held?

The great thing about Freshers’ Fair is it’s right here on University Park campus! If you look on your campus map (in your Welcome Guide), you’ll find the marquee in that big green space next to Nightingale Hall.

Now all you need to know is WHEN it’s on

Monday 24th, Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th September

10:00am – 4:00pm
